The rain was beating hard on the roof of the car, and the blurry lights sparkled through the tinted windows. Jackie was in the passenger seat, and Raymond was driving. Their post-dinner destination was unknown to her, but over time with Raymond, she had learned to trust his surprises. She knew deep down that every action he took, every decision he made, and every instinct he followed was based on experience and a deep level of thoughtfulness. “So? Where are we headed?” she asked with a tone of mischievous curiosity. “You and I” he said with a pause, as he turned a corner, “Are off to the Hilton. I’ve booked a room for the night.” Jackie wiggled in her seat with an excited “Oooo” and gently gripped Raymond’s thigh. “Based on our experiences, I guess you have taken care of all the intricate details.” Raymond stroked her hand gently, “Of course I have. Parking is really expensive so once we get there, you can hop in the driver’s seat and bring the car back. Check out is at 11, but I’ll be ready to be picked up by 9.” Jackie let out a sarcastic laugh and squeezed his thigh firmly, “Well then, I hope you packed your toys because it’s going to be a long and lonely night for you.” Raymond patted her hand as they stopped at a red light, “Actually, tonight will be all about you.” Jackie didn’t respond but grinned from ear to ear and gave Raymond’s thigh an even tighter squeeze.
They arrived at The Hilton and pulled into the underground parking. Raymond tapped his card against the panel, and in short order, the gate lifted to allow entry. Finally parked, both of them hopped out of the car, and Raymond locked it up. The chirp echoed through the parking garage. “Do we need bags?” Jackie asked as they met at the front of the car. Raymond put his arm around her waist. “No,” he replied, “I have already checked in and prepared the room.” Jackie embraced him and kissed him on the neck, gently breathing in his scent. A sigh of pleasure escaped her mouth. “I adore it when I don’t have to worry about a single thing.” Arm in arm, they made their way to the elevator. Once Raymond had pushed the button, Jackie pounced and wrapped her arms around him. A long kiss coupled with wandering hands while they waited for the elevator. As the doors opened, they paused their making out and walked in. Raymond tapped his key card against the panel and the doors closed behind them. Jackie smiled as she had a flashback to some months prior. “Should we hit the stop button again?” she asked with a grin. “Rather not.” Raymond replied. “I’m fairly certain the diligent staff here are on top of those sorts of things, and there is after all, a camera pointed at us.” Jackie turned her head to follow Raymond’s eyes and sure enough, there it was. “Oh well! Another time.” she said with a sigh and turned to look at him again. His eyes had a way of taking her breath away and she found herself getting lost until his voice broke the trance. “Don’t worry Jackie. I’m certain that tonight will prove to be equally, if not more delicious than our elevator adventure.” Jackie couldn’t help but wonder what he had meant.
